Ramseur Board of Commissioners – Parks & Recreation – January 2019

At the January 7, 2019 meeting of the Ramseur Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Vickie Caudle reported on plans to organize little league baseball teams for children 10 and under who live within the Ramseur Elementary School district.

There was a lively discussion of insurance, age limits, gate fees and concessions. Fees of $45 per child will cover insurance, team registrations within the community league, and the cost of a cap and shirt for each player. Board of Commissioners – Water/Sewer/Public Works – January 2019

At the January 7, 2019 meeting of the Ramseur Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Grant Cheek reported an unspecified issue at the wastewater treatment plant that he was waiting for estimate to address.

The Board voted to replace a large military surplus generator in need of repair. The unit will be replaced by Delk’s, with the old generator retained for future repair and use as a backup. Board of Commissioners – Code Enforcement Discussion – January 2019

Code enforcement issues took up a large portion of the January 7, 2019, meeting of the Ramseur Board of Commissioners. In the video below, the speaker addressing the board is Jill Wood, a consultant hired by the Town of Ramseur to help sort out our longstanding planning, zoning, and code enforcement issues.

This discussion took place in two segments due to a discrepancy over the location of a non-compliant property on Jordan Road (US 64) near Bojangles. At that point the discussion was put on hold while Ms. Wood contacted our code enforcement officer, Dennis Pinnix, to verify the property in question. Both segments have been merged into one video, which begins with the first few minutes of the meeting.
